Simon Merry
Simon practices from his home in Wareham and has been a member of the Society since 2015.
In 2019 he completed an MA in Fine Art at the Arts University Bournemouth where his work developed from the literal towards a more abstracted representation. Ever since he has explored different ideas, materials and techniques with no single style remaining for long.
In 2024 he began songwriting and later recording and this has led to his prevailing visual art practice that responds to the songs he has written. The artwork then becomes the ‘album cover’. The form is a response rather than an illustration of the lyrics or music.
