Chris Clark

Chris has been an active member of Broadstone Art Society since joining in Spring 1992.

Having had a long-time interest in painting and drawing, as a mature student Chris took an ‘A’ Level course followed by three years Flexi study at Poole College with John Bowen, this, plus further courses at the College and workshops with visiting tutors to the Art Society, gave a good basis to build on. A study course into the use of colour mixing, line and texture has led to ongoing exploration into working from original representational work to semi-abstract pieces.

Chris paints mainly in acrylic but also mixed media and watercolour; she enjoys both plein air painting and studio work, including portrait, landscape and plants.

Her paintings have been exhibited regularly in Dorset with Broadstone Art Society, Sherborne Art Society and also at the Red House in Christchurch. From 2015 to 2025 Chris exhibited with Inside Out Painters originally at Church House in Wimborne then at the Gallery Upstairs in Upton Country Park.
